SS-31, also known as Elamipretide, is a research-grade synthetic tetrapeptide (D-Arg-Dmt-Lys-Phe-NH₂) that selectively localises to the inner mitochondrial membrane through electrostatic and hydrophobic interactions with cardiolipin. By stabilising cardiolipin and inhibiting reactive oxygen species (ROS) production, SS-31 protects mitochondrial membrane integrity and supports cellular energy production under stress conditions. It is one of the most extensively investigated mitochondria-targeted peptides in oxidative stress and cardioprotection research.

Available in 50mg vials. Every batch is HPLC tested and independently verified to a minimum of 99% purity. Certificate of Analysis available on request.

Research applications include:

  • Mitochondrial inner membrane stabilisation and cardiolipin binding studies
  • Reactive oxygen species (ROS) inhibition and redox homeostasis research
  • Cardiac mitochondrial dysfunction and ischaemia-reperfusion model studies
  • Age-related mitochondrial decline and cellular energy restoration research
  • Neurodegenerative disease mitochondrial pathway investigation
  • ATP production and electron transport chain efficiency studies
